Job Description
Purpose
This position is for a Reservoir Engineer in Shell Egypt office, New Cairo. The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional subsurface team. This role will contribute to Shell Egypt’s exploration & development projects and asset management support for onshore and offshore business. The Reservoir Engineer will be working closely with Front End Development Manager and Asset Development Leads for both onshore & offshore. There will be regular engagement with different stakeholders; Shell Egypt technical community, BAPETCO & RASHPETCO JV’s, EGPC and Shell P&T
Key Accountabilities
- Evaluate Reservoir performance using different analytical techniques
- Support new exploration opportunities through providing subsurface development concept, Ultimate Recovery, Recovery Factor, well count estimates using suitable analogues, benchmarking and/or applicable analytical techniques for new exploration opportunities
- Design & Analyze well test data using pressure and rate transient techniques
- Calibrate well testing results to numerical simulation models
- Ability to design reservoir fluid sampling and lab program and QA/QC lab results
- Operational support for shell Egypt exploration wells (PPP, H2S estimates)
- Building and maintaining reservoir simulation models within IRM – integrated Reservoir Modelling - framework
- Identify and manage key subsurface uncertainties
- Generate production and injection forecasts using analytical and numerical techniques.
- Support business planning and annual resource reporting.

Requirements
Skills & Requirements :
- Relevant Petroleum Engineering degree or equivalent
- Background: 7-10 years of experience in Reservoir / Petroleum Engineering.
- Sound understanding of key reservoir engineering principles (PVT, SCAL, PTA).
- Experience working with integrated production system modelling (IPSM)
- Experience with Shell Process; Business Planning (OP), Resource Reporting (ARPR) and Opportunity Realization System (ORS).
- Practical Experience for Oil & gas reservoirs
- Knowledge of programming and data analytics skills is an advantage.
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Well-developed reporting and presentation skills are helpful
- Personal drive, ability to cope with occasional peaks of work load. good at priority setting, self-starter and ability to work against tight deadlines;
- Interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differences are extremely important
